USA: Wayne Fueling Systems Has 40,000 Automation Server Units Globally

Costs are reduced and eliminates potential points of failure by giving users better visibility over their current devices

Global provider of fuel dispensing, payment, automation, and control technologies for retail and commercial fuel service stations, Wayne Fueling Systems (“WFS”), which is part of Dover Fueling Solutions (“DFS”) has stated that there are currently more than 40,000 Wayne Fusion site automation server units installed at fuel retail network worldwide.

Systems and devices are connected together by the Fusion site automation server including point-of-sale (POS), dispensers, back office systems, electronic payment systems (EPS), price signs, and tank gauges. It allows costs to be reduced, and eliminates potential points of failure by giving users better visibility over many of their current devices with a single tool. A customer’s current fuel service station controller, automatic tank gauge (ATG) system, fuel-retail console, interface and distribution boxes, and third-party proprietary controllers can be replaced by a single Fusion automation server.

The Cable Tight™ system provides a watertight end-to-end solution for electrical, sensor, and data wiring containment.

Franklin Fueling Systems has announced the launch of the new Cable Tight™ wire management system for UL markets in the Americas. All the benefits of the field-proven UPP® electrofusion welded pipework system are applied to ensure a liquid-tight underground system.

Cable Tight™ flexible conduit is constructed of HDPE (high density polyethylene) and comes available in 1,000’ or 1,500’ coils that can be rolled out into long continuous runs, free of joints. This eliminates potential liquid entry paths from threaded or glued buried joints that need to be made every 10’ with traditional PVC or steel conduit.

For polyethylene sumps, Cable Tight™ polyethylene entry seals weld directly to the sump’s wall, creating a bond that’s even stronger than either of the two components on their own. For fiberglass sumps, Cable Tight™ fiberglass entry seals feature two rigid halves that compress into place on the sump wall, removing exposed rubber that can break down over time. Each system is available in ¾” and 1” diameters for fiberglass sump, polyethylene sump, or electrical trough entry.

The cloud-based solution enables fast mobile transactions for a variety of mobile wallets and card schemes, allowing retailers of all sizes to offer their customers greater payment flexibility without having to install new hardware.

NCR Corporation has unveiled its new NCR Mobile Payments solution at the NACS Show, the leading convenience and fuel retailing event, held in Chicago from October 17 to 20.

The solution is built on P97’s PetroZone® platform, one of the industry’s most mature, end-to-end mobile payment platforms in the United States. It ties directly with the NCR RPOS and EPS point of sale solutions to enable fast, easy, indoor and outdoor mobile payments at fuel service stations and convenience stores around the U.S., and eventually around the world.

NCR Corporation announced it has received certification for outdoor EMV solutions with Wayne Fueling Systems (“Wayne”), part of Dover Fueling Solutions and a global provider of fuel dispensing, payment, automation and control technologies for retail and commercial fuel service stations. The certification covers NCR Epsilon, which enables credit and debit EMV transactions for the NCR RPOS and StorePoint POS solutions.

The Wayne iX Pay™ payment platform has consistently been the first to meet the industry’s rigorous regulatory demands to help deliver an increased level of payment security. By having an NCR outdoor EMV certified solution, retailers who encounter high risk fraud and have locations subject to high fraud rules can implement EMV payments outdoors and help reduce their exposure to chargeback expenses.

Leveraging Gilbarco Veeder-Root’s Impulse countertop merchandising solution, Terrible Herbst just completed its most successful annual Gas4Life promotion, a 90-day game-of-chance promotion designed to engage customers, while significantly boosting store merchandise revenues.

Gilbarco Veeder-Root’s Impulse platform was crucial to the promotion’s success, which was programmed to host the instant-win portion of the promotion on the interactive “Spin2Win” video wheel. Customers were given a chance to spin the interactive wheel, using their fingertips to start the rotation, instead of receiving a scratch-off card as in earlier versions of Gas4Life.

Mark Walters, Terrible Herbst Vice President of Sales and Marketing said that scratch-off cards were earlier used to provide the instant-win portion of their annual Gas4Life promotion. But there was a lot more manual work involved with scratch cards. Impulse saved them over $40,000 just in scratch cards which they could put back into the promotion.

He added, “This year’s Gas4Life promotion is our most successful promotion to date. Fun and innovative ideas to engage and entertain customers are key to driving in-store sales and retaining loyalty.
