Using global best practice methodology and leading edge technology, UVR delivers a high performing VR2 solution to those wanting a safer and healthier environment for employees, fuelling customers and the planet. UVR is also the sensible choice for those wanting to significantly reduce their evaporative fuel losses and improve their bottom lines. Universal UVR operates universally with any fuel dispenser, irrespective of make, model or age. Monitored and managed All VR2 systems fail. Knowing when a failure has occurred is key. UVR continuously monitors the vapour recovery performance of every petrol sale. If the system falls outside agreed performance criteria an alarm is raised to the support provider, ensuring that a fault can be quickly rectified. Vapour sensing UVR continuously monitors fuel flow rate, vapour flow rate and fuel temperature. The data collected accurately controls the Vapour over Liquid (V/L) ratio via an Electronic Proportional Valve (EPV), thereby minimizing the risk of air entering the Underground Storage Tank (UST), or saturated petrol vapour being released to the atmosphere. Vapour concentration UVR also monitors vapour concentration. Ensuring that only saturated petrol vapour is recovered and returned to the UST. UVR can detect whether there is a leak between fuel delivery and vapour recovery paths, which could see purchased petrol returned to the UST rather than being delivered to the customer’s vehicle.

 Gilbarco Veeder-Root has been selected by Casey’s General Stores as their exclusive dispenser and payment terminal provider for forecourt EMVTM acceptance. Gilbarco Encore 700 S dispensers and FlexPayTM IV retrofit kits will be installed to enable EMV/chip payments in all 1,978 Casey’s stores and forecourt EMV upgrades has been begun in advance of the 2020 deadline, to ensure a secure payment experience for its consumers.

FlexPay IV from Gilbarco, which is jointly developed with Verifone, a world leader in payments and commerce solutions, is the first PCI PTS 4.x certified, fuel dispenser payment terminal in the U.S. that supports EMV, NFC, mobile wallets, encryption and 2D barcode scanning, as well as future regulatory changes.

 Implico, software and consulting company has successfully completed a major modernization project for loading processes at the Gunvor refinery in Ingolstadt. The most significant factor was that the upgrade was performed with the refinery in normal operation. One loading bay after another was successfully upgraded without impacting other loading operations, because of the flexibility of the OpenTAS terminal management system.

Implico’s downstream experts decoupled each loading bay to be moved from the legacy system, on the software side. Implico integrated the platform into the new system, once the equipment had been replaced on the loading bay by the services provider Actemium. Volkmar Lindner-Billiau, Senior Consultant Oil & Gas at Implico says, “We also took the opportunity to replace the old interfaces. Gunvor now uses the latest XML format for data exchange and will benefit from smooth and seamless data communications in the long run.” 

Implico also set up development and acceptance systems during the migration period, in addition to the production system.

Since 2002, OpenTAS has been used by the refinery in Ingolstadt. Calculating net refinery production, loading control for tank trucks and railcars, and processing tax calculations both with and without EMCS (Excise Movement and Control System) comprise the tasks handled by the software.

“We’ve now put together a platform that means we are very well-prepared for the future. The conversions went very well and had virtually no impact on the rest of our business.
